What does the Legal pack actually do?

Ceylo ships a Legal vocabulary pack you switch on in settings. The pack is a list of terms a practice uses constantly, and Ceylo hands it to the speech model before each dictation so the recognizer expects that language rather than its everyday sound-alikes. It shifts the odds toward the right spelling. It is not a guarantee and it does not remove the need to read what you dictated.

• Procedure and posture: plaintiff, defendant, litigation, arbitration, mediation, jurisdiction, hearing, motion, discovery, appeal, verdict, settlement.
• Instruments and duties: contract, clause, liability, damages, injunction, affidavit, indemnification, power of attorney, notary, statute.
• Intellectual property and compliance: trademark, copyright, patent, NDA, due diligence, regulation.

Can Ceylo learn client and matter names?

Ceylo's My Terms list holds the names and jargon you want spelled correctly, and it applies to Voice Typing and to meetings alike. Your own terms always outrank the Legal pack: when the prompt runs out of room, Ceylo drops pack terms first and never drops yours. A client, an opposing firm, a recurring counterparty or a citation style you use daily can be taught once and then forgotten about.

What happens to a privileged recording?

Ceylo keeps the recording and the transcript in files on your own disk. The speech model runs on your hardware, so no audio and no text is sent anywhere to be transcribed, and Ceylo has no account system holding a copy. What Ceylo does send is the traffic it needs to fetch a speech model, check for updates and keep licensing honest, and none of that carries audio or text. The Privacy page keeps the full list.

Can Ceylo transcribe a client call?

Ceylo transcribes any call that plays through your PC, including Google Meet, Zoom and Teams, recording your microphone on one track and the call audio on the other. No bot joins and nothing appears in the participant list, because Ceylo never enters the call. Meetings are part of Ceylo Pro. Recording law differs by jurisdiction and situation, so telling the other side is your call, not the software's.

Where Ceylo does not fit a legal practice

Ceylo solves one part of the problem and is honestly absent from several others. If any of these is a requirement, stop here:

• Ceylo does not identify individual speakers. A meeting transcript separates your microphone from everything else and labels the two sides, which is not the same as recording who said what.
• Ceylo holds no certification and offers no data processing agreement. There is no audit trail over a service handling your content, because there is no service handling your content. If your obligations require a certified processor, Ceylo is not one.
• There is no admin console, no seat management and no centrally managed deployment. Ceylo is installed by the person who uses it.
• Transcription is never perfect, and a wrong term in a filed document is expensive. Read what you dictated.
