How does Ceylo capture both sides of a call?

Ceylo opens two recordings at once. The first is the microphone you selected. The second is your computer's own audio output, the same stream your speakers or headphones receive, captured through Windows loopback, and that is where everybody else in the call arrives. Ceylo transcribes the two separately and labels every line. This is why no meeting app needs a plugin: Ceylo never touches the meeting app at all.

What do the speaker labels say?

Ceylo labels lines You and Participants. That is a split between two audio channels, not per-person recognition: everything arriving through your computer's audio is one side, however many people are talking. If three people speak in a Zoom call, all three are Participants. It is what the recording can honestly know, and it needs no setup, no voice enrollment and no guessing.

Does anyone else know Ceylo is running?

No bot joins and nothing appears in the participant list, because Ceylo never enters the call: it records the audio your own computer is already handling. That also means recording is invisible to the other side unless you say so. Recording law differs by country and by situation, so telling people is your responsibility rather than the application's, and Ceylo does not announce anything on your behalf.

Where does the meeting go afterwards?

The recording and the transcript are saved to your own disk, in Ceylo's library inside the app. Transcripts export as plain text into a folder you choose, and if you point Ceylo at an Obsidian vault, every meeting also lands there as Markdown with the labels intact. Nothing is uploaded. There is no shared workspace either: a meeting you want a colleague to read is a file you send them.

Which meeting apps does this work with?

All of them, in the sense that matters: Ceylo captures whatever plays through your PC, so Google Meet, Zoom and Teams behave identically, and so does a webinar, a browser tab or a call in an app Ceylo has never heard of. Ceylo integrates with none of them and needs no extension, no bot account and no calendar access to work.

What meeting recording in Ceylo does not do

Meeting recording is the Ceylo feature with the most edges, so here they all are:

• No per-person names. Everything on the far side of the call is one labeled channel, and a colleague sitting next to you is picked up by your microphone, which means their words are labeled You.
• The meeting recap is not shipped. Topics and action items are announced and are not in the app today.
• Only what plays through your PC is captured. A phone on speaker across the table reaches your microphone at best, and often not usefully.
• If Windows loopback cannot start, Ceylo records the meeting from the microphone alone rather than failing outright, so a transcript can end up one-sided.
• Meeting recording is part of Pro. The free plan does not include it.
• There is no calendar integration, no automatic joining and no scheduling.
