How does Ceylo put text into another program?

Ceylo places the transcript on the clipboard, sends Ctrl+V to whichever window has focus, and then puts your previous clipboard contents back. The whole block arrives in one paste, so an input with autocomplete or an editor with completion has no gaps to interleave with, and there is no letter by letter crawl to sit through. When the clipboard or the paste is unavailable, Ceylo falls back to sending the text as keystrokes so the dictation still lands.

Which window does the text go to?

Ceylo sends the text to the window that already had focus. Its listening indicator is a small floating capsule that never takes focus away, and Ceylo itself lives in the Windows tray rather than in a window you switch to. Put the cursor where you want the words, hold the key, and the words go there. Nothing has to be selected first and nothing has to be moved afterwards.

How do I start and stop a dictation?

Ceylo lets you choose the key combination and how it behaves: hold it down and release to finish, or tap once to start and tap again to stop. Ceylo waits for the key to be fully released before sending anything, so a still-held key never eats the first characters. A few optional rules run on the text afterwards, such as adding a trailing space or dropping a final period, so the output matches how you write.

Which languages can I dictate in?

Ceylo covers 51 languages: 50 named ones plus auto-detect, which picks the language rather than asking you to. One speech model covers all of them, so switching between two languages in the same afternoon costs nothing and needs no second download. The same hotkey starts a dictation in every language Ceylo supports, and auto-detect will follow you across them.

Can Ceylo be taught words it keeps getting wrong?

Ceylo takes a personal term list, My Terms, for the names and jargon you actually say, and it ships vocabulary packs for six fields including legal, medical, software and finance. Both are handed to the speech model before a dictation, and your own terms always win: when the prompt runs out of room, Ceylo drops its own pack terms first. A one-line sentence about your work can be added as context too.

What Voice Typing does not do

Ceylo types words into a window. Everything below is outside that:

• There is no command grammar. No spoken select, delete, undo or new document: Ceylo types the words you say.
• Voice Typing itself is live speech only. A file you already recorded goes through Ceylo's file transcription instead, which is part of Ceylo Pro.
• Ceylo writes and never reads. It cannot see what is in the window, so it cannot correct a word it typed a minute ago or find the sentence you meant.
• An application that treats Ctrl+V as its own shortcut pushes Ceylo onto the slower keystroke fallback.
• Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit, only.
